Planetarium
We are interested in hosting community and school groups from Claremont
by prior arrangement. For more information contact the physics department
office at (909) 621-8724.
We also have a regular series of sky talks which are generally
at the first Tuesday of the month at 8PM during the academic year.
We will offer a chance to view stars and planets after the show
weather permitting. During the academic year of 2004-2005
the planetarium will be closed as Dr. Penprase is on sabbatical
leave.
Explorers of Mauna Kea - This planetarium show discusses the world's largest
telescopes; the twin 10-Meter reflectors atop of Hawaii's Mauna
Kea.
Life in the Universe: Presented by Dr. Thomas Jarett of Caltech.
Impact: Ongoing process of Solar system evolution the impacts are discussed. Second part of the show concentrates on the impact of the impacts on human civilisation.
Messier : Great French astronomer Charles Messier's life and works. Second part of the show simulates a Messier Marathon from the audiovisual system.
